‘’To the mamas in the waiting’’

By

To the mamas in the waiting, my heart is with you. My heart hurts, alongside yours. We are in a season of grey, in a season full of unknowns and uncertainties. Fearful of the future but choosing to live out our faith just as God called us as moms. Held by a God who knows all of our deepest hearts desires, to hold a living baby. To hear a cry instead of silence. To go to the hospital to get to bring a baby home, not leave our baby there. I see you, I hear your silent cries as we smile in public, and I see you smiling for others joy as you weep your own loss. We are in the darkest season of our lives. Waiting for due dates to come that won’t end how we thought. My heart is with you, and when no one else seems to understand the depth of your pain. Jesus knows, mama. Jesus knows how bad we are hurting. Jesus is with us, and he’s also with our babies too.

We can rest assure that he is catching every silent and loud cry we plea to him. No matter the hour, no matter where we are, he with us. As we long for a baby, we long for the babies we lost. We wish it was them that was still with us. We fear people think we have moved on by the hope to have a baby again, but what they don’t know is we will never move on and we will never forget. After loss, us moms are left in a season that often we feel stuck in. The wait has been an unexpected part of this grief journey, and I didn’t expect it to be one of the hardest parts to navigate. As we sit in the wait and the enemy tries to tell us lies, mama rest in the HOPE and TRUTH of our savior. He holds all of our days ahead of us, and rest in knowing though these things may have been a surprise to us it wasn’t to Him. He’s holding every one of our aching hearts.

Heavenly Father, I lift every mama who is in the season of waiting. Lord, I lift these sweet mamas in prayer. That you will comfort each mama whose struggles and feels alone. That we know you catch every tear and we are reminded that you are good even when life isn’t. Lord, I pray that you remind us that YOU are the one who can turn our graves into gardens. I pray for patience over every mama who is struggling to understand what your plan is, that we will surrender to you even when we don’t understand. I pray for new life, while also mourning the life we lost. Comfort our hearts and be near to us as we navigate a holiday season without our babies, a foreign season that we pictured so differently, comfort us as we mourn what could of been. I pray for each mama as we hit due dates that won’t bring home a baby, milestones that will never be met, and as we try and live out our faith without letting fear in. I pray for peace that surpasses all understanding. We thank you for your hope of heaven. We praise you that we know life doesn’t stop here for us or our babies. I ask these things in Jesus name, Amen.
